Statement of Faith
A clear summary of the core biblical truths that guide our ministry and shape our message.
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. The verbal inspiration of the original autographs was plenary and verbal. Therefore, the Bible is inerrant and infallible in its original manuscript. It is the sole authority for faith and practice in all matters to which it speaks.
God
We believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections.
The Dispensations
We believe that God has revealed different stewardships (dispensations) throughout history, each with specific responsibilities for mankind. These dispensations are distinct periods in which God administers His purposes.
Angels: Unfallen and Fallen
We believe in the existence of angels as created spiritual beings. Unfallen angels serve God and minister to believers. Fallen angels, including Satan, oppose God’s purposes and seek to deceive humanity.
Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin, bringing spiritual death and separation from God. All humans are born with a sinful nature and are in need of salvation.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works but received by trusting in the finished work of Christ. True faith produces repentance and transformation.
Israel
We affirm the distinction between Israel and the Church. God has not replaced Israel with the Church, and His covenants and promises to Israel remain irrevocable.
The Church
We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ made up of all born-again believers. The local church is a gathering of believers who meet for worship, teaching, fellowship, service, and the observance of ordinances (baptism and communion).
Last Things
We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture of the Church, followed by a seven-year tribulation, and the literal second coming of Jesus Christ to establish His 1,000-year millennial reign. Afterward, the wicked will be judged at the Great White Throne, and the righteous will enter into eternal life.
The Final State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Believers will enjoy eternal life with God, while unbelievers will face eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
Education
We believe that Christian education is essential for the spiritual growth and maturity of believers. It should be grounded in Scripture and aimed at equipping individuals for service and godly living.
Cooperation
We believe that churches should cooperate with one another in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the gospel. Such cooperation should be voluntary and based on mutual agreement.
The Christian Walk
We believe that every believer is called to a life of holiness, set apart unto God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to bear fruit in character, witness, and service.
The Christian’s Service
We believe that every believer has been given spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit for the edification of the Church and the work of the ministry. Believers should use their gifts to serve others and glorify God.
The Christian and Society
We believe that Christians should seek to make the will of Christ supreme in their own lives and in human society. They should oppose all forms of injustice and work toward righteousness in every area of life.
Peace and War
We believe that peace is the will of God and that it is the duty of Christians to seek peace with all men. However, we also recognize the right of governments to maintain order and protect their citizens, which may include the use of force.
Religious Liberty
We believe that God alone is Lord of the conscience. Church and state should be separate, with each having distinct roles. The state has no right to impose penalties for religious opinions, and the church should not rely on the state for support.
Marriage, Family, and Sexuality
We believe that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for companionship, reproduction, and reflection of Christ’s relationship to the Church. Sexual intimacy is only biblically permissible within this context.
Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days. All life was created by God’s direct act, and humanity is the pinnacle of His creation.
Addendum
We affirm that our Statement of Faith is a reflection of our understanding of Scripture and is subject to revision as we grow in our understanding of God’s Word.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to believers for the purpose of building up the Church. While some gifts were specific to the apostolic era, others continue to be operative today.
Conclusion
We believe that the doctrines outlined in this Statement of Faith are essential to the understanding and practice of the Christian faith. We commit ourselves to uphold these truths and to live in a manner worthy of the calling we have received.
